On
leaving school his first career was as an apprentice jockey. After 4 years
increasing weight forced Donnie out of the racing.
Donnie has
starred in many television
commercials, including the Norman Ross, Wonderland, and Joyce Mayne .
He is also owns the voice on radio for the last 11 years for Erina Retravision
Erina on the Central Coast. The store is now known as "World Wide
Appliances" In 1995 the Erina Retravision store became
the Retravision store (there are over 600 of them) with the biggest sales
in NSW, due in no small way to Donnie's highly recognisable voice and style.
Donnie
has survived 3 major car crashes. Each vehicle was written off totally.
Donnie
works tirelessly for charities and has done so for 3 decades.
Donnie
loves Australian poetry.
Donnie
has been a guest on many TV shows including Bert Newton's Show and 60 minutes.
Donnie
recorded a song in the mid 70's that was produced by Jackie Trent and Toni
Hatch who also wrote the song, produced it and sang backing vocals. The
song was called "Dancing Man"

FOR TRIVIA BUFFS:
Donnie has over the last two decades
become an International Singer Songwriter. A song he co-wrote with "TITANS" band
member Bobby Sheehan in 1964 is these days Featured on albums in the USA and
UK. The song "NO CHEATIN" was recorded in a Hurstville Studio owned by "AUSSIE
BYRNE". On the same day the BEE GEES recorded "SPICKS N SPECKS" in an a joining

a well publicised fact that Donnie has had over
6000 lady fiends down the years 6 Fiancees and one wife. He
today is single. Donnie
has been part owner of many great gray hounds including:

Gossip, Major Gossip and Sallys Title. His
school mate Donny McMillan and Donny's wife Mary were part owners and
trainers. Donnies
1st Solo Single in 1969 was the first Australian stereo single recorded in
Australia. It was titled. "Fairy Land". It was released on the
Dumond
label owned by Martin Erdman.
